All TCU students are scholars of the City in so far as their education is paid for by funds from the Taguig City Government coming from the people’s taxes. This is in line with the City Administration’s quest to continue improving access to quality education, enhance completion rate, nurture a culture of excellence among Taguig residents, and ultimately achieve a better and more prosperous life for the people of Taguig.

However, the City Government of Taguig also recognize the fact that in spite of being free from tuition and miscellaneous fees, many or most of the students of TCU still struggle from the daily transportation and meal expenses as well as occasional projects and class requirements.

Hence, the City Government of Taguig, in its desire to lighten the burden of its people, ensure that they do not only get to enroll, but to graduate; and not only to graduate, but to excel in their chosen courses and produce more honor graduates who can better serve their families, and the city as a whole, passed the Taguig City Ordinance No. 08, Series of 2019 entitled “An Ordinance Providing Educational Assistance Allowance And Merit Incentive To Qualified And Deserving College Students Of The Taguig City University.” This is now called TCU City Educational Assistance Allowance (TCU CEAA).

EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE ALLOWANCE

As such, qualified and deserving TCU college students shall receive P5,000.00 per semester or P10,000.00 per year  as educational assistance allowance to help defray educational-related expenses as well as transportation and living expenses.

MERIT INCENTIVE

The Ordinance also provide for a Merit incentive of P5,000 per semester or P10,000 per year, to qualified TCU students who, at the end of the semester, have a Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) of at least “1.75” or higher, with at least 15 credit units earned, with NO failing marks, incomplete, blank or no grade subjects, or dropped subjects. Grades for P.E. & NSTP are not included in the computation. This is to encourage diligent study and foster excellence among students.

PROCEDURE OF APPLYING FOR TCU CEAA

The TCU CEAA is not an automatic grant. TCU students need to apply for it and supply documents needed for screening and auditing purposes, since it involves use of public money.

The Taguig Scholarship Office shall post announcements regarding the TCU CEAA Application period, Online Application Form link, submission of documents, and other related information in its Facebook Page: Taguig Scholarships. Online application links (Google Forms) are only opened during the Application Period. TCU Students are encouraged to follow and monitor the Taguig Scholarships FB page in order to be up to date with their announcements. Information is also available at the Taguig City Government’s website: www.taguig.gov.ph.

The Taguig Scholarship Office is located at the 2nd floor, Senator Renato “Compañero” Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology High School (SRCC or Cayetano Science HS), Pamayanang Diego Silang, Brgy. Ususan, Taguig City.

We prefer that students apply on their own, since this is their scholarship. We discourage scholar applicants in sending their lolo, lola, parents or anybody else to apply for them. There is no special lane for the elderly – maawa naman kayo sa kanila. Employees of the city/barangay are also NOT allowed to submit your application, or to follow up for you.
